Hello...

I've always had a passion for beautiful well crafted, leather bags.  I still remember purchasing my first designer bag when I finally landed my first "real job" and the proud feeling that I had when I carried it.  Now 20+ years later, the smoothness, distinct smell and the patina of the worn leather is truly remarkable!  In today's throw away culture, to have something that not only lasted 20 years, but actually became more beautiful with age, is a rarity, to say the least.  

Throughout the years, I've purchased other designer bags but I realized lately that the quality of the leather and the craftsmanship had declined significantly.  Paying several hundred dollars for a new bag to then only have it fall apart in a very short period of time, had me beyond frustrated.  This is when my designer instincts kicked in....

I knew that there had to be far superior leather available and with my love for design, this challenge became a passion project for me as it brought me back to fundamentally doing what I loved best!  So, after lots of fun (aka...epic design fails!) and experimenting with all sorts of styles, types of leather, and construction methods (and of course, using all of my family and friends as critics), I knew that I had found something special.  And this something special, quickly started to take shape...

Haute Hyde has been built on many late nights, tears of frustration, whoops of joy, and more encouraging hugs and kisses from my family than I could ever count... and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way!
